Book an advisor for the part you cannot solve alone
Most of a first raise can be worked through on your own with the right tools in front of you. Some of it cannot. Advisory Services lets you book a session with a fundraising advisor for the specific problem in front of you, pay for that session rather than for a retainer, and give the advisor scoped access to your business data for as long as the engagement runs.
What advisory is on Vanelo
It is a booking, not a subscription tier. Vanelo publishes a set of advisory services, each one with its own price, and you book the service that matches the problem you have. Nothing about your monthly plan changes, and nothing is bundled into it.
That structure exists because first-time founders do not need advice evenly. You need it in bursts, usually around a valuation you cannot defend, a deck that keeps losing the room, or a set of investor conversations that stall at the same point every time. Paying per session means you can bring someone in at those moments without carrying the cost through the months in between.
The services on offer and what each one costs are configured by a Vanelo administrator, so the catalogue you see in the product is the current one. Prices vary by service, which is why this page does not quote a single number.
One service, one price, one booking
You pick a service from the catalogue, you see its price before you commit, and you book it. The booking is the unit of work, and it carries its own status through to completion.
Advisory is priced separately from the founder subscription of £25.99 per month. It is optional, and the rest of the platform works whether you ever book a session or not.
How a booking moves
Every advisory booking sits in one of four states, and you can see which one at any time.
You have bought the session
The booking exists and the service has been paid for at the price shown for that service. At this point the work has not started and no advisor is attached to it yet.
An advisor is attached
Vanelo assigns an advisor to the booking. From here the engagement has a named person on the other side of it rather than a queue position, and any scoped access you grant is granted to that advisor.
The engagement is running
The advisor is working on what you booked them for. This is the window in which scoped access to your business data is useful, because the advisor can look at the actual round rather than at your description of it.
The work is done
The booking closes. The engagement is finished, and the access that was granted for it does not carry on indefinitely afterwards.
Why the four states matter to you
Purchased is not the same as started
Keeping the two apart is deliberate. A booking that has been paid for but not yet assigned is in a different position from one an advisor is actively working on, and you should not have to guess which of the two you are in. The status is on the booking, so the answer is a thing you read rather than an email you chase.
Assignment is where the engagement gets a person
Advisors are assigned to bookings rather than picked from a directory. That keeps the match a matter for Vanelo, and it means the person on your engagement is attached to a specific piece of paid work with a specific scope, not loosely attached to your account.
Completion closes the loop, including on access
When a booking reaches Completed, the engagement is over. Access that was granted for the engagement is time bound, so finishing the work also ends the reason anyone outside your team is looking at your numbers.
Scoped access, and why it expires
Advice is only worth paying for if the advisor can see the real thing. Telling someone about your round in a call is slower and less accurate than letting them read it, so an advisor on an engagement can be granted scoped access to your business data.
Scoped means bounded. Access is granted for the engagement in front of you, not for your account in general, and being assigned to one booking does not open everything you have ever put into Vanelo.
Granted means you decide. The access is something you give for the engagement rather than something that arrives with the purchase.
Expires means it ends. The grant has an end. Advisory access is not a permanent relationship with your data because you once booked a session, which is the same principle the Digital Data Room applies to investors.
What you keep
Data room documents carry an access log, so where an engagement touches documents you shared there, opening them is recorded.
Your account remains yours to erase. An account holder can erase their account, and that is true whether or not you have ever booked an advisory session.
What it costs, and what happens if you change your mind
Advisory is priced per service. Each service in the catalogue carries its own price, set by a Vanelo administrator, and you pay for the session you book rather than for a bundle or an hourly rate you have to estimate in advance. The founder subscription is £25.99 per month and is separate from anything you book here.
Booked services are not refundable. Under our policy of 28 August 2026 there are no refunds on booked services, on campaign submissions, or on subscriptions. Read the price on the service before you book it, and if you are not certain the service is the right one, ask us first at hello@vanelo.io rather than booking and hoping. Our full terms set this out.
Where it sits in the raise
Advisory is the tool you reach for when one of the others gives you an answer you are not ready to act on. A Valuation Engine range you cannot yet defend, an Investability Assessment that lands in Investable with Improvements and does not tell you which improvement to make first, or a target list of investors you are not sure how to approach.
It is also the point at which a session is worth more than a playbook. The Inspiration Hub is free reading inside your subscription and covers the general case well. An advisory booking is for the version of the problem that is specific to your company, which is exactly the sort of problem an article cannot solve.
