Investability Assessment

Fourteen questions, one score out of 100

The Vanelo Investability Framework turns 14 questions into a single score, built from three weighted dimensions: Viable business, Sizable opportunity and Backable team. The score is out of 100, and it puts your round in one of the framework's tiers. This is the tool most founders use first, because it tells you what to fix while there is still time to fix it.

Where the 100 points sit

The weights are the framework. Viable business carries 40 points, Sizable opportunity 35 and Backable team 25, and those three numbers are what decide how much any one answer moves your total.

40 of 100 points

Viable business

The heaviest dimension in the framework, worth 40 per cent of your score on its own. A weak result here costs you more points than a weak result anywhere else, which makes it the fastest single lever on your tier.

35 of 100 points

Sizable opportunity

Worth 35 points, just over a third of the total. Taken together, Viable business and Sizable opportunity account for 75 of the 100 points, so the two of them decide most of where your score lands.

25 of 100 points

Backable team

The smallest weight at 25 points, and still a quarter of the score. Twenty-five points is more than enough to carry a round across a tier boundary, so it is not the dimension to leave until last.

The result tiers

Your total lands in exactly one band. The bands do not overlap, and there is nothing in between them.

  • Highly Investable, a score of 70 to 100.
  • Investable with Improvements, a score of 40 to 69.
  • Pre-Investable Stage, a score of 0 to 39.

The tier is the headline. The weights are the instruction: a gap in Viable business is worth 40 points of attention, a gap in Backable team is worth 25, and knowing which is which is the difference between rewriting the right section of your deck and rewriting all of it.

Scoring

How a score is made

Fourteen questions. Three dimensions, weighted 40, 35 and 25. One score out of 100, and one tier.

The three weights add up to 100, which is why the score reads as a share of a possible best rather than a mark out of an arbitrary total.

It is an assessment of the round in front of you, not a credit check and not a promise that an investor will fund it.

What to do with the number

A score is only useful if it changes what you do next. Here is the honest version of each tier.

Pre-Investable Stage, 0 to 39

This is not the moment to start approaching investors. Work the due diligence readiness checklist, 20 items across six categories, and read through the Inspiration Hub playbooks and template banks. Score again when the gaps are closed rather than arguing with the result.

Investable with Improvements, 40 to 69

You have a round worth taking out, and a known list of things that will cost you in a first meeting. Put the points where the weights are, and if one part of the raise needs a second pair of eyes, book advisory services, which are priced per service.

Highly Investable, 70 to 100

Move to the numbers and the outreach. Run the Valuation Engine for a defensible range rather than a single figure, load your deck and legal documents into the data room, and build a target list from the investor database of 1,389 records.

Questions

Before you start

What does the assessment cost?

It comes with the Founder Plan, which is £25.99 a month, or £19.99 a month paid for the year, and you can cancel any time. Investors pay nothing to use Vanelo. Both plans are set out on the pricing page.

Does a high score mean I will raise?

No. The framework scores your round against the Vanelo Investability Framework and nothing else. Investors make their own decisions on their own terms, and a tier is a read on how ready your round looks, not a commitment from anyone.

Can I get a refund if I do not like my result?

No. Subscriptions are not refundable, and neither are booked services or campaign submissions. The assessment is designed to be taken early, while the answer is still cheap to act on.
